The TrueTrak
event sequence processor has been developed using a concept of "event structure".
This means that rather than simply writing a program to perform tracking
and control, we broke the process of sortation control into its component
events and described the rules which pertain to these events. To implement
a control system, the physical structure is specified in terms of these
basic events.
Since developing this system,
we have discovered that the basic event rules apply to physical processes
and structures other than sortation control such as conveyorized manufacturing.
Thus we refer to it as an Event Sequence Processor. This also implies that
when used for sortation control, the system may include aspects which are
outside the scope of traditional sortation controllers. |
